Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside has voiced his concerns at the growing number of Premier League clubs falling under foreign ownership.
Gartside was speaking after Manchester City announced a probable takeover by new investors from Abu Dhabi, who have already made their intentions known by signing Robinho from Real Madrid for more than £30million.

Gartside said: "Clubs under foreign ownership have falsely inflated values of transfers and wages, making it increasingly difficult for others to compete.
"It seems to me that to redress the balance and continue to have a competitive league, some forward thinking is required by the Premier League.
"We all find it frustrating when the influx of foreign money distorts the competition."
